Lansdowne Friends School is seeking a full-time Third & Fourth Grade Teacher to begin in the 2018-2019 academic year.  The teacher will co-teach the third & fourth grades and will collaborate with the present 3/4 teacher to plan, create and implement the curriculum.

The candidate should have familiarity with a constructivist math program, a balanced literacy program, and the writing process. The candidate should also demonstrate strong classroom management skills, an investment in continued professional growth, and a commitment to promoting a diverse community. He/she is responsible for ongoing assessment and communication with parents and the Head of School about children’s progress.

All Lower School teachers are expected to be active community members, sharing supervisory duties and general support and care of the school community. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education and required state and federal clearances, including Act 168. Teaching experience is preferred.

We are looking for a dynamic, creative candidate who is flexible and will be a collaborative member of our school community. Familiarity with the Responsive Classroom and Quakerism is desirable.
