Introductory Webinar
PAISBOA will host an introductory webinar on Thursday, January 15 at 11:00 am. Please join us as Jesse and his team from Vertex Education presents Bridging the Financial Literacy Gap: Designing Board-Friendly Monthly Reports.
Independent school boards increasingly rely on clear and timely financial insights, yet many non-financial trustees struggle to interpret traditional monthly financial statements. This session will explore practical, high-impact strategies for presenting financial information in a way that is clear, relevant, and transparent. Participants will learn how to redesign monthly reports, highlight key trends, simplify complex data, and communicate financial risks and opportunities. The session will include examples of board-friendly reporting formats, dashboards, and narrative summaries that support stronger governance and better decision-making.
Among the topics to be considered:
- Identify the common pain points non-financial board members face when interpreting monthly financial statements.
- Redesign monthly reports for clarity and transparency by using simple visual cues, dashboards and plain-language explanations.
- Prioritize and highlight the most relevant financial insights—such as cash position, enrollment-driven revenue, and key variances—to support strategic decision-making.
- Communicate financial risk and opportunity in a way that builds trust and improves governance effectiveness.
- Develop a repeatable monthly reporting structure that reduces confusion and increases engagement during finance and board meetings.
