The Episcopal Academy currently seeks an Assistant Director of Campus Safety.

Role and Responsibilities
The Assistant Director of Campus Safety is responsible for supporting all aspects of campus safety, under the direction of the Director of Campus Safety. This position will be responsible for recognizing and responding to emergency situations, policy violations, and safety issues in a timely and responsible manner. Other duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • May be required to supervise other personnel and operations, in the absence of the Director of Campus Safety, and will have input in the hiring, firing, advancement, or other changes of status with these employees.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Campus Safety to develop and implement Campus Safety staff training, and ongoing in-service training.
  • Provide periodic input in regards to Campus Safety staff evaluations and disciplinary procedures.
  • Recommend the purchase of equipment and supplies with regards to campus safety.
  • Monitor and enforce assigned parking during the school day and evening hours.
  • Assist the Director of Campus Safety in coordinating the development and delivery of pro-active safety programs for the EA community, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Assist in maintaining records associated with Campus Safety Operations, including campus safety incident reports, campus safety duty logs, and campus safety drills.
  • Assist with snow removal, graduation, and other special events.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Requires current Unarmed Security Guard License from the State of Pennsylvania signifying the completion of the requisite 40 hour training or the securing thereof before assuming this position.
  • Successful completion of state and federal clearances.
  • Requires valid Pennsylvania vehicle operator’s license.
  • Communication/ interpersonal skills needed to interact with staff on a regular basis through weekly staff meetings, weekly one-on-one meetings, and daily informal contact.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Products and the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs.
  • Ability to work in a high pressure and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use discretion and good judgment in a variety of circumstances with proven ability to effectively, continuously and discretely work with confidential and potentially sensitive information.
