About Carol: Carol is currently the Director of Finance and Operations at Westfield Friends School. She joined Westfield in 2014 after serving as Business Manager for Frankford Friends School for five years. Carol’s independent school experience is not only in building financial sustainability for small Friends schools but also as a parent of children who graduated from Abington Friends School and William Penn Charter School. Previous to the Independent School world, Carol worked in the insurance and risk management industry; she held the position of Director of Development at Frankford Group Ministry, an organization that supported the spiritual, social and economic development of the Frankford section of Philadelphia; she provided bookkeeping services for Main Line Unitarian Church in Devon, PA; and she provided financial management for Friends World Committee for Consultation-Section of the Americas (FWCC), a Quaker organization that encourages fellowship among all the branches of the Religious Society of Friends. Carol has also served as a surety bond underwriter with a capacity building program for small, disadvantaged, and women-owned contracting businesses benefiting the New Jersey School’s Construction Corporation. In the past, Carol coached middle school girls lacrosse at Abington Friends, she’s coached and organized numerous Dragon Boat teams for the Philadelphia Dragon Boat Festival, and, for several years, she cooked meals for the Northeast Committee on Homelessness. Carol resides in Philadelphia with her family and their Boxers, Gracie and Graham.
