EPISCOPAL ACADEMY - ELECTRICIAN

The Episcopal Academy has an immediate opening for an Electrician who will be an integral part of the Facilities and Operations team and will report to the Maintenance Manager. We are looking for a detail oriented, licensed electrician who possesses the ability to install, maintain, modify and repair electrical systems and associated electrical equipment.

Role and Responsibilities

Additional roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the source of a breakdown and correct the issue
  • Run data lines, connect data jacks and plugs, then test operation
  • Run electrical wiring to install new equipment and new systems
  • Ability to convert CFL and fluorescent fixtures to LED
  • Have working knowledge of Lutron lighting systems
  • Prevent breakdown of systems through routine inspections of systems and equipment
  • Find the cause of different operating errors and determine the correct course of action to fix the issue
  • Willingness to work and collaborate with others
  • Willingness to work in fields other than electrical
    • i.e.:  HVAC, plumbing, set-ups and break downs
  • Responsible for assisting with special events by providing setup, take down, security and traffic control
  • Actively participate in snow and ice removal on campus

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma, technical school and/or GED required
  • 5+ years of experience in the electrical trade
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Heavy, moderate or light lifting and carrying (70lbs or more)
  • Ability to kneel and climb, withstand exposure to noise and inclement weather, see within the normal parameters, and hear within the normal range
  • Ability to work or inspect in confined spaces of heights on scaffolding and ladders
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Must follow and adhere to all maintenance processes including health and safety regulations
  • Should be computer literate and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Ability to manage and complete multiple projects
